The Schecter Tempest Classic is the big daddy of the Tempest guitar line. This axe features a bound mahogany body topped with a beautifully matched flamed maple top. The mahogany neck sports an ebony fingerboard and Mother of Pearl/Abalone crown inlays. The Tempest Classic is shipped with Seymour Duncan SH-11 Custom Custom and SH-1n Alnico humbuckers that are selectable via a 3 way toggle switch. A coil tap adds versatility to the mix. Grover tuners and a TonePros bridge cap it off and keep you in tune. A pleasure to behold and a pleasure to hear, the Tempest Classic is an excellent choice for rock, blues or country, and even for more abusive punk or metal applications. The set-neck Tempest boasts a solid flamed maple top for great looks, and when paired with the mahogany body, the smooth and detailed sound you'd expect. In the bridge position, the Ultra Classic features a Custom Custom humbucker, complete with an Alnico II magnet for warm and smooth highs, more midrange, and a spongy bottom end--perfect for the player who needs a little more juice with their vintage tone. Up by the neck is a '59, for vintage-correct humbucker sound: warm, defined clean tones and full, bright distorted tones. A three-way switch selects between pickups, and the coil-tap on the tone knob lets you quickly boost output with standard humbucker wiring or back things off to single coil depending on the tune or your own playing preference. The precision Tusq nut is made with Graph Tech's "man made ivory," which couples the strings' vibrations to the neck and is impregnated with Teflon to improve the tuning performance of your guitar.
